In light of the uncertainty we face with the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the recent announcement by President Ramaphosa, we as LifeLine, have taken the necessary steps to ensure safety first from our trainers and our clients

There’s much that is still not known about Coronavirus. But from the beginning of this crisis, the one thing that health authorities have been clear about is that maintaining good hygiene, and that good hand-hygiene specifically, is absolutely critical.

Safety of trainers and clients is paramount and we have/will advise any clients to follow public guidelines and to cancel/postpone bookings if either has been exposed to anyone showing potential symptoms, are showing symptoms themselves, or have tested positive or had anyone in recent contact test positive for Coronavirus.

Furthermore, should we receive any potential bookings for training, we will encourage all clients to move training to be scheduled from May 2020 onwards while we practice social distancing.

We are implementing a work-from-home strategy effective immediately from the 18 March 2020 till the 14th April 2020 when schools are set to return back. This is to minimize any risk that staff members may be exposed and to keep most of the staff as safe as possible, which means it won’t quite be ‘business as usual’ for a while as we adjust. Our staff have all been provided with hand sanitizes and sprays to help curb the virus as well.

We will still be available during office hours via email or via our office line (011) 728-1331. Please note this may not be a reliable way to get through to us during this period.

Should you require a meeting setup, an option of a zoom/skype session will first be presented first before a F2F option is requested.

We encourage all clients and potential participants to self-isolate if they start feeling ill and to get tested if experiencing any symptoms related to Coronavirus. Please dial the hotline on 0800-029-999.

In order to help with your safety and the safety of others, please note the following:

  • Trainers have been briefed and are to be mindful of certain group exercises that may act as a transmitter to the virus. These could be factors for transmission and thus hand sanitisers and disinfect sprays are to be used before AND after each exercise to reduce the chances of transmission. These will be packed in trainers’ bags along with other training materials.
  • For mentoring and coaching, trainers have been briefed to maintain distance at all times with their clients. Should any of your trainees use public transport, encourage the start time to be after 10h00 and ending before 15h00 to reduce expose of the virus for the participant and allow them to avoid being crammed into a taxi or bus where close proximity of others is very likely. The same time principle may apply for training, in the case where public transport is the participant’s only option.

This is an unprecedented situation but we are sure that the steps we are taking will help to manage this very difficult situation while striking a balance between providing the excellent service we’re known for and protecting the safety and health of everyone involved.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or comments you would like to add?
